Before you call
- Stop the water if you can. Close the main valve, or the shutoff at the fixture.
- Turn off the breakers for wet rooms, but only if you can reach the panel without standing in water.
- Take photos and video of the water and the damage before you move anything.
- Write down when you first noticed the water and where it seemed to start.
- Have your street name and the nearest cross street ready.
